About
During my masters' thesis as a Product Developer, I was fascinated by the human aspects of design. I researched how our quality of life can be improved by investigating our sleeping habits. The end-result of my thesis was a working prototype of a pillow which simulates the human breathing pattern, thereby helping the user to fall asleep more easily.Currently, as a User Experience expert I feel this human aspect is of the utmost importance when developing our solutions. In my current role, I represent the user throughout the development process by conducting user research and user tests and by translating the results into requirements.

research
As a researcher I am interested in user centered design, I applied this way of thinking in my work as an academic researcher and as a user experience designer within several companies.Within the academic field I worked at the University of Ghent on an IWT tetra project about TIII (Tangible, Intuitive, Interactive Interfaces), investigating new techniques in the field of human computer interaction. Within the project we involved business and education to validate our research results.User research within my work as a user experience designer is the most crucial part of my job. To create successful designs it is necessary to confirm my assumptions with the end-user. My experience is in setting up interviews, user-labs, surveys, co-creation workshops, guerilla testing and much more, preferably always with some sort of prototype (low or high level).
UX design
As a User Experience designer at KBC and Colruyt and as a service designer at Knight Moves I worked on products such as KBC Touch, KBC Invest, the new colruyt.be website, a Colruyt Group digital styleguide for internal applications, the project “woningpas” for the flemisch government and much more.Within my job I apply a design thinking methodology (empathize – define – ideate – prototype – test). I start by gathering both business and user requirements to create my first wireframes (low fidelity). After a couple of iterations the prototype becomes more detailed. When the prototype gets more elaborated, I mostly work in scrum with a development team to technically validate and finalise the result.

Current work
My passion lies in solving customer challenges as a User Experience designer. Early involvement in service design energizes me, but I also enjoy overseeing projects through their completion, especially focusing on the visual aspects of interfaces.Currently, I work as a UX Designer at Proximus in the Pickx Tribe, where I focus on enhancing the customer journeys for the sale of our TV-options by performing cross-platform analysises. This involves identifying issues, analyzing data, conducting user research, and advising on user experience improvements.I contributed to developing concepts for the Super Aggregator project, conducting benchmarking, creating concept designs, and gathering user feedback.

Made by me
During my free time you can most likely find me behind my sewing machine. I love making things, from baby clothes to accessories for my interior. From 2011 till 2015 me and my sister Sofie had our own jewellery label, it was called “La Ville”. We made jewellery out of leather using a laser cutter. Our work was published in several magazines such as Flair, La Maison Victor, De Morgen Magazine, Weekend knack,...I love the satisfaction I get when creating things for real human beings.
